Beyond the veranda

01 · Full day · Guided
The Sakleshpur–Subrahmanya line runs through the Ghats on more than fifty bridges and through a string of tunnels. A guided walk along the route is one of the area's best-known treks.

02 · Half day · On foot
Above the tree line, the forest gives way to rolling grassland, with the ranges beyond. Follow a local guide along the quieter trails.

03 · Below the house · Seasonal
A stream runs through the bottom of the property, and the district's waterfalls are a short drive away. Both are loudest between June and September.

04 · One hour · On the estate
The plantation starts at the edge of the veranda — coffee beneath shade trees, with pepper vines climbing their trunks. Walk through it with someone who grew up here.

05 · Any time · No effort required
A plank on two chains beneath the porch roof, facing the valley. Often the most-used spot on the property.

06 · Every night · Included
Lit in the open ground in front of the house once the evening cools. It is included with your stay and made for lingering after dark.

07 · All day · Included
There is a table-tennis table indoors and a badminton court out front — useful when the rain settles in between June and September.

08 · The whole property
One roof, one road in and forest in every direction. This is the place you will be calling home.
The table
Malnad cooking, made in the house kitchen: akki rotti and chutney in the morning, rice with two curries for lunch, and a fried snack with evening coffee. It is served when ready, and there is always more.
Meals are vegetarian by default, with non-vegetarian dishes on request. Tell us about allergies or preferences when booking so the kitchen can plan accordingly.
